What is a critical mineral?

Critical minerals are essential materials for technology, energy production and storage, defense, and infrastructure.

For us, critical minerals of interest include:
Graphite, rare earth elements (REE), platinum group metals (PGM) and other resources deemed essential and in short supply to meet future energy and technology needs.

These critical minerals are considered essential to the decarbonization of our economies.

The Government of Canada has established a list of 31 minerals deemed critical to the country’s sustainable economic success, as part of its Canadian Minerals and Metals Plan.

To ensure the supply chain necessary for the electrification of our economy, it is essential to focus on local solutions for the development of these minerals and their value-added processing in Canada.
